Nike’s new ‘checkerboarding’ shirt is really just art

Nike is releasing a new art shirt inspired by checkerboards.

The art shirt is an homage to the popular pop culture video game, “Nike Checkerboard,” where a user plays the game by holding up a “checker” that has a colored checker pattern on it.

The new design is a playful nod to “Nikes iconic ‘checkers’ on the Nike Watch,” which were designed by the legendary designer Ralph Lauren.

The “Nkels” design was inspired by the “N’Sync” logo, a reference to the music duo, who were responsible for popularizing the look in the 1980s.

“NikeCheckerboard” will be available for purchase on June 17, while supplies last.
